This young family built a stunning retreat nestled in the Spanish mountains and wanted a home gym to match - tucked into a newly constructed extension of their house.
As avid outdoor runners, they didn’t need traditional cardio machines. Instead, they envisioned a space equipped for strength training and pilates. The client had her eyes on a sleek squat rack, a battle rope, and a dedicated space for stretching in front of a red light therapy panel.
To support their varied routines, they requested a full range of dumbbells from 2kg to 20kg, and a barbell setup that could hold at least 120kg.
The design brief emphasised a calm, organic aesthetic - the gym needed to blend into their home’s natural palette of wood tones and white textiles, without feeling clinical or out of place. A sanctuary in every sense.
The Proposal
1. Strength: For strength training, we recommended the PENT. Banka exercise bench. To complement this, we included the PENT. Colmia dumbbell set and PENT. Lova kettlebell, both placed on a custom wooden shelf — known for their craftsmanship and timeless design.
The setup is further enhanced by the Stil-Fit Functional Trainer, a compact and versatile cable machine that works well in a premium home gym environment. We also added the PENT. Lina battle rope and PENT. Moxa medicine ball for dynamic resistance and functional training.
To support more advanced strength work, we included the NOHRD Weight Plates and NOHRD Squat Rack, offering a complete and visually cohesive strength solution.
2. Mobility: For mobility and flexibility, we recommended a custom wooden storage unit to neatly organize and display key tools: the PENT. Mata yoga mat, PENT. Koha yoga block, PENT. Resa resistance band, PENT. Rola stretching roller, PENT. Mesna fitness ball, and PENT. Sienna skipping rope — all chosen for their balance of design and function.Cycling Bears - your preferred gym interior designer. Get in touch.
