Gym Interior Design for a Luxury Condominium in Malaysia
The Brief
One of Malaysia’s most luxurious developers approached Cycling Bears to design a wellness sanctuary for their new wellness-focused development. Recognising that spending time in nature is widely known to benefit overall health, the designers aimed to bring the outdoors in by incorporating wooden fitness equipment instead of traditional gym machines made from synthetic materials.
Although this boutique development comprises only 100 units - with each mega apartment featuring its own private gym - the developer wanted the shared gym to be fully equipped to encourage residents to come together and build a sense of community.
The space was designed with dedicated cardio and strength zones, as well as a multi-purpose studio that can be used for yoga classes or mat Pilates.
The Proposal
1. Strength
For strength training, we proposed two PENT. Banka advanced benches, paired with the PENT. Colmia dumbbell set - a sleek yet powerful weight-training solution. The PENT. Lova kettlebells, displayed on a horizontal wooden stand, bring together precision, balance, and refined design.
To complement these, the NOHRD Wall introduces a modular setup featuring a Squat Rack, adjustable bench, and Weight Plates Tower - uniting performance, efficiency, and timeless craftsmanship in one cohesive system.
2. Cardio
For the cardio zone, we suggested four NOHRD Sprintbok manual treadmills and two NOHRD Bikes - creating a dedicated space for endurance and rhythm. Each piece reflects the same design integrity: luxurious materials, quiet operation, and an aesthetic that feels right at home in this elegant space.
3. Mobility
For flexibility and recovery, we recommend the PENT. Mata yoga mat, PENT. Koha yoga blocks, and PENT. Rola stretching roller. These can be arranged for group sessions or stored neatly on their matching wooden stand - keeping the area organised, warm, and ready for mindful movement.
