Designing a Luxury Fitness Villa in Indonesia

Luxury Lifestyle

The Brief

This luxurious Indonesian resort of just 25 villas is redefining wellness tourism. Beyond in-villa fitness accessories, a dedicated villa is now being developed as the shared gym. Cycling Bears was invited to design this space, which includes two zones: one for strength and cardio, and another for yoga and mat-pilates group classes.

With the resort’s warm, wood-forward interior aesthetic, the brief called for equipment crafted in oak and ash. The footprint isn’t large, but the goal was clear: offer a full range of training options while ensuring the gym feels spacious and comfortable for two couples to use at once.

The Proposal

1. Strength:
To keep the space refined while covering everything from heavy lifts to smaller accessories, we proposed a NOHRD Wall as the anchor for functional training, paired with a NOHRD WeightBench for bench press and free-weight workouts. For handhelds and finishing pieces, we added the PENT Colmia dumbbell set, plus ergonomic accessories like the PENT Lipova push-up bars and the PENT Twista ab-roller - all chosen to sit neatly in the room and blend seamlessly with the interior.

2. Cardio:
For a smooth and engaging cardio experience, we suggested the NOHRD Sprintbok - a sleek, curved manual treadmill designed for natural, self-powered running. This is complemented by the NOHRD Bike, known for its elegant build and balanced, quiet ride.

3. Mobility:
The mobility room is intentionally separated from the main training area so stretching and recovery feel calm and restorative. We fitted the space with quality yoga mats, a compact wooden cabinet to store yoga blocks and foam rollers, and neatly coiled skipping ropes - everything needed for warm-ups, cooldowns, and light conditioning without cluttering the main floor.
