A fully functional gym for year-round fitness at a scenic lake house.

The Brief

This fitness-loving couple spends several weeks each year at their lake house, enjoying both summer and winter activities. Their home is perfectly situated at the base of a ski resort and right in front of the lake, making it ideal for outdoor sports like rowing. She previously competed in rowing in Australia, and the sport remains a shared passion whenever the weather allows.

With no high-quality gym nearby, they sought a professional gym designer to create a luxury home gym tailored to their year-round fitness routine. Their request included a variety of cardio equipment—he prefers running, while she enjoys cycling—along with a diverse selection of strength training equipment, including bench presses and free weights. The goal was to integrate premium home gym equipment while ensuring a space-efficient, modern gym design that complements their stylish interior.

The Proposal

1. Strength: For strength training, we suggested the  PENT. Bystra and Banka barbell set offering a sleek yet powerful foundation for lifting and bench presses. The Stil-Fit cable machine maximises floor space while providing a full range of strength exercises, ensuring a luxury home gym design without clutter. To complement this setup, the PENT.Lova kettlebells set and the PENT. Colmia dumbbells set add variety, making strength training more dynamic and engaging. Finally, the gorgeous PENT. Lina Battle Rope was included for a bit as this is something their trainer in Melbourne often uses with them.

2. Cardio: For cardio we specified the PENT Irena manual treadmill, that is designed to be gentle on the joints while delivering an effective run. The Stil-fit Ergometer, provides a smooth, low-impact ride, and is perfect for the client who likes to cycle. Given the couple love rowing, we added the Stil-Fit Flow One rower, for the bad weather days. This offers a full-body workout with the added benefit of upright storage to save space.

3. Mobility: For mobility and recovery, PENT. Mata yoga mats were specified, neatly stored in a built-in cabinet, ensuring easy access for floor-based mobility exercises. Additionally, the Stil-Fit cable machine also serves as an excellent tool for stretching and functional movement, ensuring a balanced gym design that supports flexibility and muscle recovery.
